The Dreys Woodland Wedding

The Dreys Woodland Wedding

Mindy & Joey

All woodland weddings have a magical feel to them – something about being out in all those big, whispering trees – but Mindy and Joeys really was very special. Not only was it on a gorgeous and sunny day, but their nearest and dearest were such an amazing bunch up for a party.

Photographing a wedding at The Dreys in Kent is like stepping into an enchanting fairytale. Upon arrival at the car park, there’s a moment of intrigue as you realise the true beauty lies ahead. A sign beckons you into the woods, where festoon lighting guides your path, casting a warm glow against the natural backdrop.

As you walk deeper into the woodland, the anticipation builds. The clearing ahead reveals itself, a stunning location for outdoor wedding ceremonies. The intimate setting is framed by towering trees and lush greenery, providing a serene atmosphere filled with the sounds of nature.

Continuing further, you transition into the main site, where rustic charm and character abound. The venue boasts a unique blend of natural materials and thoughtful design, each corner telling its own story. Vintage décor complements the surroundings, enhancing the romantic feel without overshadowing the beauty of the landscape.

As a photographer, the possibilities are endless here. From candid moments beneath the trees to beautifully composed shots of the couple against the rustic architecture, The Dreys offers a canvas that captures the essence of love, laughter, and the special moments that matter most. Each click of the shutter encapsulates the unique atmosphere of this magical venue, ensuring that the memories created here will last a lifetime.

Mindy and Joey review

WOW Just WOW

From our first telephone conversation to the moment our photos arrived in our inbox my husband (that feels good to say) and I felt at ease with Helen. We felt like we connected from the start and just knew we would be in good hands. Helen constantly went above and beyond. Before the wedding doing check in texts, meet ups and even her welcome package was a lovely surprise. We even met at the venue to look for perfect spots on the day and she ended up taking beautiful photos of us even before the real deal!! Her caring and calming nature continued on the big day whether it was keeping our nerves at bay or running the steamer to my husband that I forgot to send him! She couldn't do enough! We really wanted to hire someone that would be friendly and easy to work with...but Helen was more than that....It felt like having a friend take our photos!

Not only was SHE wonderful to work with but her photos are a work of art! She knew exactly where and when to take the photos and this showed when we were brought to tears looking through them! I honestly think if I sent some photos to my dress brand they would be silly not to use them as advertisement!! If you are looking for the WHOLE package then look no further...you have to have Helen as your photographer!!! You won't be disappointed.

The styling of their big day at The Drays  was Rustic Chic, modern and romantic.

Fun vibes only! A wedding ceremony to remember at The Dreys.

It wasn’t any surprise therefore that their guests knew exactly how to bring the good energy! Especially Saffrons bridal party who were the ultimate hype team for their girl.

Having so many incredible friends also created the most wonderful wedding ceremony at The Dreys

The Dreys Wedding Photos

After a drink and some time with their guests Mindy and Joey wanted to spend 15 or so minutes getting a few portraits of the two of them together. As with a lot of the couples I work with, they didn’t want to spend ages away from their guests having photos and were a bit nervous about having their photo taken but they knew they wanted some photos of the two of them together.

As a wedding photographer The Dreys provides a stunning backdrop for some creative portraits. The woodland area, covered in festoon lights is a great choice but there are also some lovely open spaces with views of the Kent countryside which I chose to use to give their portraits a bit of depth and difference.

I wish this beautiful pair all the best for a wonderful honeymoon and an amazing life together.

Love Helen
